As one of the Community projects, the high school for Girls Potchefstroom identified Witrand Hospital to donate their colourful handmade blankets intended for patient use. The handing over was relevant as it coincided with one of the chilly days in June by a Group of Grade 10's to 12 learners led by Ms Riana Henderson at the Hospital's outpatients Department.

Present to receive the gesture of goodwill on behalf of the patients was the Hospital management team led by Mrs Naledi Mocwaledi- Senyane the Chief Executive officer. "With the recent Limited resources being encountered the Blankets will come in handy as they will surely bring warmth and comfort to our patients in respective units as they would be used in different recreational facilities while watching T.V for example but what is equally important is the relationship that the Hospital has with Community structures including the High School for Girls Potchefstroom, we really appreciate the gesture of goodwill as the High School for Girls Potchefstroom chose an excellent Institution for association, Witrand Hospital is an institution that is highly specialised and one of the best in the Country with regards to overall patient care reiterated Mrs Naledi-Mocwaledi Senyane Chief Executive Officer.

"What makes the blankets special and extra ordinary is the fact that they are self made which means that the students gave their time and effort in making sure that they create a product of good quality and for that we are thankful , we know that everything that is handmade is special and the timing is also perfect and as i wrap up let me take this opportunity to encourage all of you to study hard and consider careers in the diverse specialised Health care services, that is made up of Doctors, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Social Workers amongst others reiterated Mrs Debbie Ngaba head of Social Services at the Hospital.

"Year in and out, the school is involved in Community projects and we collectively make sure that we give back and certainly the relationship will be strengthened benefitting both the students and the Hospital's patients, we promise that on our scheduled schools Community engagements Witrand Hospital will never be left behind, reiterated Ms Riana Henderson.
